I love the outdoors and love painting; landscape painting is fairly straightforward and should speak for itself I prefer to paint in late afternoon light, and also sometimes like to paint from memory -remembering what I felt at the time — not always working topographically on the spot.
As an Englishman, I am dismayed that what remains of the California coast is threatened on all sides, and wish there were something like the British National Trust that could buy up and protect for posterity coastal places of natural beauty. In the absence of that, we can only do our best to alert people to what they are losing. –Jon Wilsher
