ESLT was formed in 2001 by volunteers who work to preserve critical lands in the California and Nevada portions of the Eastern Sierra Nevada. The group has helped preserve 7,845 acres of animal habitats, prime agricultural lands, and beautiful scenic vistas. ESLT is currently working with landowners and agency partners to preserve habitat for the imperiled sage grouse in Mono County, in addition to many other conservation projects. Between 2008 and 2010, Oak Group artists journeyed to the majestic Eastern Sierra to paint in partnership with Eastern Sierra Land Trust. Oak artists raised $30,000 for ESLT’s preservation projects in September of 2010.
