Carpinteria Bluffs

“The Bluffs” is comprised of 52 beautiful oceanfront acres southeast of Carpinteria filled with coastal sage, a eucalyptus-lined “Artists’ Passage,” meandering trails, and a seal rookery. From a 1970s grassroots effort by locals with Arturo Tello and The Oak Group contributing individually and together, Citizens for Carpinteria Bluffs was formed in 1996. Working with The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County, the property was purchased in 1998 and transferred to the City of Carpinteria two years later as a nature preserve.
