Bubba Geiger

Our friend Bubba died of complications from AlDS in 1995.
Bubba was talented, funny, handsome, smart and kind. He was forty-five.

Left taped to the wall above his desk was this quotation from Gauguin, carefully written out by hand on a scrap of paper that was already yellow with age: “Work freely and furiously and you will make progress and sooner or later your talent will be recognized, if you have any. But above all do not labor over a painting, a strong sentiment can be expressed immediately. Think about it and look for the simplest way.”
